Annual Bicycle Ride Through the Lavender Farms of the Olympic Peninsula

Imagine vistas of snow-capped mountains, a wide blue sea, sun-filled skies and multi-hued fields of wondrous lavender. This is the “Tour de Lavender,” an annual event for all cyclists to enjoy.

Since 2013, when it started as a small, local summer ride, it’s grown to become the premier cycling event on the Olympic Peninsula. These annual rides are where cyclists, young and old, beginner to expert, come to celebrate the stunning beauty of the Olympic Mountains, the splendor of the Salish Sea (also known as the Strait of Juan de Fuca), the sweet scent of lavender filling the air on a summer’s day, and the welcoming warmth and hospitality of the lavender farmers and others who call this magic place “home” and relish sharing its pleasures.

With a family-oriented Fun Ride and the challenge of a Metric Century, the rides offer something for all cyclists, whether they’re looking for a relaxed ride with friends and family or aiming for a “personal best” effort.

I strongly recommend the Tour de Lavender. It's a great course, beautiful ride, and fun event. The course was well manned and help was a phone call away if needed. The farms were lovely and offered great snacks, beverages and goodies. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. I strongly encourage this ride to others. I will definitely do this again next year. I cannot thank all the volunteers for making this event a success. Your support on the course yesterday provided me a peace of mind and comfort.

What a great ride!! The people who organized it are obviously cyclists because they took care of us very well. The start line was properly staffed with great volunteers and was well organized, plus there were prizes and lavender gifts!! The course traveled some of the best routes in the valley. Beautiful views everywhere. The course markings were THE BEST I've ever seen in over a dozen years of doing organized rides. The finish line was good too - pizza, gluten free pizza from a local restaurant, fresh fruit, peanuts, cookies, etc. the local businesses really supported it and the organizers did a superb job. I highly recommend this ride!!
