In addition, prior to the event, you will receive an email with links to both the digital map (including gps track download) and PDFs if you want to print out a paper version. We will have a very limited quantity of paper maps at the event, so if you know you prefer paper, it is best to print it out before you come! You can use the digital map on the RideWithGPS app, or you can download the tracks to use on your own GPS device or preferred app.

May I ride with one ear bud? Or two?2019-01-26T08:37:17-08:00

No. It’s a matter of safety as well as courtesy to your fellow TdL riders.  And while you know your sense of balance is superb and you can multi-task with the best of ’em, please move to the side of the road/trail and stop if you have to use your cell phone or other device.

The Metric Century and the Fun Ride routes are marked with directional arrows (Dan Henry marks) of a different color. Directional and safety notice signs are located at various places along both routes. At check-in, you’ll receive a map of each route and you can decide which one you want to ride. Tour de Lavender volunteer staff at each of the stops along the way can also direct you.

You’ll get tickets via email shortly after you purchase them.  You should print them and bring them with you.  Any items–jerseys, t-shirts, etc.–you’ve ordered from our online Store, are handed out at the Merchandise Tent on the day of the event. No, the roads are open to vehicle traffic so you must obey all the rules of the road. Ride to the right, and no more than two abreast. Stop at all stop signs. Ride safely and be courteous and respectful to your fellow riders and to drivers.

Do I need to train for the Metric Century?2019-01-26T08:49:24-08:00

It’s a good idea if you’ve never ridden more than 30 miles at a time. We suggest you spend at least several weeks building up your conditioning and stamina to tackle 60+ plus miles of cycling in a single day. The Tour de Lavender Metric Century is over a relatively easy route, but it does have some challenging hill climbs; it is, after all, more than 60 miles long and you’ve only got around 8 hours to finish.

What does my registration fee include?2023-10-28T21:40:22-07:00

Your registration fee covers both rides–you buy your ticket and decide which route you want to ride once you get here.  The fee includes admission to all participating lavender farms, access to the snacks and beverages provided at the farms, and lots of other “freebies” we’ll be handing out during the event. It does not include a jersey (those must be purchased separately).

If we are on a tandem do we have to register both people?2019-01-26T08:45:51-08:00

Yep!  Each rider must complete a registration form including the waiver. This gives each rider access to all services.

Can I do the Fun Ride instead of the Metric Century?2019-01-26T08:24:58-08:00

Yes. Your ticket purchase covers both routes and you can decide which one you want to ride.

Can I do the Metric Century instead of the Fun Ride?2019-01-26T08:23:39-08:00
